StormRider Pro: The Advanced Grid System for Forex Trading

Introduction

The StormRider Pro is an advanced grid system developed to exploit existing market inefficiencies rather than simply adapting to historical data. Over the years, it has proven its effectiveness in real accounts, using the real mechanics of the market to generate consistent profits, not just as a “trial and error” system.

How to Install

  1. Attach the EA to ONLY one M15 chart, AUDCAD is recommended.
  2. If your broker uses a suffix (e.g., AUDCAD.a), update the names in the Symbol parameter.
  3. Use only the recommended pairs. No .set files are needed; all settings are stored internally in the EA.
  4. Allow the EA access to the news list website and time server so that news filters and time detection work properly. See the guide on how to do this (from 1:00 to 2:05).

Requirements

  • Spread and Slippage Sensitivity: The EA is not sensitive to spread and slippage, but it is advisable to use a good ECN broker.
  • VPS: The EA should run continuously on a VPS.
  • Recommended Leverage and Balance:
    • With 1:30 leverage, it is recommended not to use high-risk settings on an account with less than $6000.
    • With 1:100 leverage, it is safe to use significant risk settings on an account with $1000.

MM & Risk Settings

  • Allow Opening of a New Grid: Turns on/off the opening of new grids. Does not affect already opened grids.
  • Lot Sizing Method: Select the lot sizing method according to the desired risk:
    • Fixed Lots: Uses the fixed lot size from the “Fixed Lot” parameter.
    • Dynamic Lots: Uses the ‘Dynamic Lot’ parameter.
    • Deposit Load: Calculates lots based on the percentage of deposit load.
    • Presets: Four presets that automatically calculate risk.
  • Fixed Lot: Fixed lot for the initial trade.
  • Dynamic Lot (Based on Balance/Equity): Balance/equity to be used per 0.01 lot.
  • Deposit Load %: Percentage of total deposit to be used for opening the initial trade.
  • Maximum Lot: Maximum lot allowed.
  • Maximum Spread (in pips): Maximum allowed spread.
  • Maximum Slippage for Non-ECN Account (in pips): Maximum allowed slippage.
  • Maximum Symbols at the Same Time: Maximum number of symbols that can be opened at the same time.
  • Allow Hedging: Allows opening trades in multiple directions on the same symbol.
  • Trade on Holidays: Turns on/off the trading filter for Christmas/New Year.
  • Allow Buy/Sell: Turns on/off buy/sell trades.
  • Maximum Drawdown Percentage: If the current floating drawdown exceeds the specified percentage, the EA will close the open positions.

Strategy

  • Symbols: Comma-separated symbols (customizable if empty).
  • Bollinger Bands Period: Bollinger Bands period used to calculate upper/lower levels.
  • RSI Period: RSI period used to filter trades with small potential.
  • Maximum RSI Value: Value for the RSI filter.
  • TakeProfit for Initial Trade (in pips): Take profit for the initial trade (if no grid trade is opened).
  • TakeProfit for Grid (in pips, weighted if zero): Take profit for the grid. If zero, the TP is weighted, i.e., equal to the initial order TP in money (not in pips).
  • StopLoss for Grid (in pips, 1000 pips if zero): Stop loss for initial/grid trades.
  • Hide StopLoss: Turns on/off stop loss hiding.

Grid Settings

  • Trading Distance: Minimum step in pips between grid trades (average).
  • Smart Distance: Automatically adjusts trading distance depending on market volatility.
  • Multiplier for 2nd Trade: Multiplier for the 2nd trade.
  • Multiplier for 3rd-5th Trades: Multiplier for the 3rd-5th trades.
  • Multiplier for 6th+ Trades: Multiplier for the 6th and subsequent trades.
  • Maximum Number of Trades: Maximum number of grid trades (average).

Others

  • Trade Comment: Custom comment for orders.
  • Show Panel: Turns on/off the information panel.
